AlloyDB for PostgreSQL: Backup Plan and On-Demand Backup Enhancements
AlloyDB for PostgreSQL now allows users to change the backup plan for existing clusters and take on-demand backups with custom retention. These features offer greater flexibility and control over data protection strategies for AlloyDB users. The changes are available for all AlloyDB for PostgreSQL clusters, with documentation provided for both functionalities.

- Backup and DR
You can now change the backup plan applied to an existing AlloyDB for PostgreSQL cluster, provided that the new backup plan uses the same backup vault and is in the same region as the AlloyDB for PostgreSQL cluster. For more information, see Change a backup plan . You can now take on-demand backups with custom retention of your AlloyDB for PostgreSQL cluster at any time, independently of your scheduled backups .
