aiawsgaengineeraws-bedrock
feature

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore's Web Search capability now includes domain and published-date filtering, providing AI agents with granular control over information sources and recency. This enables per-request specification of trusted or blocked web domains and precise time window constraints for search results. The enhancements are critical for regulated industries, research, and applications requiring strict content control. Additionally, the Web Search Tool has expanded its availability to Europe (Ireland) and Asia Pacific (Tokyo), supplementing its existing US East (N. Virginia) presence.

Features (2)
  • Web Search Gains Domain Filtering Capabilities

Agents can now specify include/exclude domain lists per call, or use gateway-level allowlists, to narrow results to trusted sources or block unwanted domains. The domain cap has increased to 100 domains per list, enhancing control over information sources.

  • Implement Published-Date Filtering for Search Results

Agents can constrain search results to a specific time window using inclusive "from" and "to" date bounds. This ensures responses reflect only timely and relevant content, crucial for applications sensitive to information recency.

Notes (1)
  • Web Search Tool Expands to New Regions

The Web Search Tool is now available in Europe (Ireland) (eu-west-1) and Asia Pacific (Tokyo) (ap-northeast-1). This expansion adds to its existing US East (N. Virginia) presence, broadening its geographical availability for AI agents.
