Amazon EC2 M8i and M8i-flex instances are now available in the Canada West (Calgary) region, expanding their regional presence. Powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, these instances offer up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous Intel-based generations. They deliver up to 20% better performance than M7i instances, with specific gains for PostgreSQL databases, NGINX web applications, and AI deep learning models. M8i-flex instances are optimized for most general-purpose workloads, while M8i variants suit continuous high CPU usage and include SAP-certified options.
