Amazon ECS Managed Daemons now support non-critical configurations
Amazon ECS Managed Daemons now support configuring daemons as non-critical, preventing auxiliary daemon failures from disrupting mission-critical application tasks. This ensures application tasks continue uninterrupted, even if logging or metrics collection daemons stop or become unhealthy, improving workload resilience. Developers and architects using ECS can now define a daemon's criticality, with the platform emitting EventBridge events for failed non-critical tasks. The feature is available in all AWS regions supporting Managed Daemons and can be configured via standard AWS tools.

Amazon ECS Managed Daemons can now be configured as non-critical, ensuring mission-critical application tasks remain uninterrupted even if auxiliary daemons fail or become unhealthy. This prevents application churn and allows new tasks to be placed on the instance immediately, while providing observability through EventBridge events and service action logs.
