Amazon MSK Now Supports Custom Domain Names for Provisioned Clusters

dataawsgaengineer
feature

Amazon MSK Provisioned clusters now allow configuring custom domain names at the cluster level, for both ZooKeeper and KRaft metadata management modes. This capability simplifies cluster migrations, disaster recovery failovers, and scaling operations by enabling client applications to maintain consistent connection endpoints without reconfiguration. Previously, custom domains required manual per-broker configuration and were unavailable for KRaft-based clusters. This feature is available at no additional cost for all new and existing MSK Provisioned clusters in all supported AWS Regions.

Features (1)
  • Cluster-Level Custom Domain Names for MSK

Amazon MSK Provisioned clusters now support configuring custom domain names once at the cluster level, automatically applying them to all brokers. This eliminates the need for manual per-broker configuration, simplifies operations, and extends custom domain support to KRaft-based clusters.
