Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB Adds Customer Managed Key Support
Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now allows customers to use AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS) customer managed keys for encrypting data at rest. This enhancement applies to InfluxDB 2 instances, read replicas, and InfluxDB 3 clusters, providing enhanced security and compliance control. Customers select a symmetric AWS KMS key during resource creation, which encrypts the underlying database storage. This feature is available in all supported AWS Regions and does not incur additional Timestream for InfluxDB charges, though standard AWS KMS fees apply.

- Encrypt data at rest with AWS KMS Customer Managed Keys
Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports AWS KMS symmetric customer managed keys for encrypting data at rest across InfluxDB 2 database instances, read replicas, and InfluxDB 3 clusters. Customers specify a key from the same AWS account and region during resource creation, which cannot be changed afterwards. This functionality is accessible via the AWS Management Console, CLI, and API in all regions where Timestream for InfluxDB is available, with standard AWS KMS charges applying.
