AWS Local Zone available in Istanbul, Türkiye
AWS has launched a new Local Zone in Istanbul, Türkiye, making its infrastructure closer to end users. - General availability of AWS Local Zone in Istanbul
AWS has announced the general availability of a new AWS Local Zone in Istanbul, Türkiye. This deployment brings core AWS services closer to metropolitan areas, aiming to reduce latency and meet data residency requirements.
- Supported services and instance types
The Istanbul Local Zone supports EC2 instances (C7i, M7i, R7i), S3 with One Zone-Infrequent Access, EBS with Local Snapshots, ECS, EKS, VPC, Direct Connect, and Application Load Balancer.

- Enabling the Istanbul Local Zone
Users can enable the Istanbul Local Zone (eu-central-1-ist-1a) through the Zones tab in Amazon EC2 console settings or by using the ModifyAvailabilityZoneGroup API.
