App Engine flexible environment Java applications will be automatically opted into TLS 1.2 and later to enhance security. This change begins in August 2026, with an option to opt out until the end of that month. Starting September 2026, App Engine may permanently block traffic using TLS 1.1 or earlier, impacting applications not updated to modern TLS versions.
