App Engine Standard Go to Enforce TLS 1.2+ by September 2026
Google App Engine standard environment for Go applications will transition to enforcing TLS version 1.2 and later for improved security. Starting August 2026, applications will be automatically opted into TLS 1.2+, with a temporary opt-out option available until the end of that month. From September 2026, App Engine may permanently block insecure traffic using TLS 1.1 and earlier versions. Developers running Go applications on App Engine standard should ensure their clients and services are compatible with TLS 1.2+ to avoid disruption.

To improve security, starting in August 2026, App Engine opts your application into TLS version 1.2 and later. You can opt out until the end of August 2026.
