App Engine standard environment for Ruby applications will enforce TLS version 1.2 and later to enhance security. This change begins in August 2026, automatically opting applications into the newer TLS versions. Developers can opt out until the end of August 2026. From September 2026, App Engine may permanently block traffic using TLS 1.1 or earlier.
