Automated Security Response on AWS Adds AI Toolkit and Enhanced Remediation
AWS has enhanced its Automated Security Response (ASR) service with four new capabilities, including an AI-driven Toolkit for generating custom remediations. It now offers expanded automatic remediation for findings from Amazon Inspector, GuardDuty, and Macie, alongside an enhanced web console for centralized configuration and multi-channel notifications for AWS Security Hub. These updates aim to drastically reduce custom remediation development time, automate responses to critical security issues like credential compromise, and improve incident response efficiency through streamlined management and timely alerts.

- AI Toolkit for Custom Remediations
ASR now includes an AI-driven Toolkit that generates custom remediations using any AI assistant with built-in safety guardrails, reducing development time from weeks to hours and minimizing misconfigurations.
- Expanded Automatic Remediation Coverage
Automated Security Response can now automatically remediate findings from Amazon Inspector, Amazon GuardDuty, and Amazon Macie, enabling automatic response to credential compromise, unpatched vulnerabilities, and sensitive data exposure.
- Centralized Configuration Console
Customers can centrally configure and scope automated remediations by account, OU, region, and resource tags through an enhanced web console, simplifying management of over 100 security controls with built-in validation.
- Multi-channel Security Hub Notifications
New multi-channel adapters for Email, Slack, Jira, and ServiceNow allow configuration of notifications for AWS Security Hub findings, with severity-based filtering, configurable deadline enforcement, and IaC code snippets.
