AWS ARC Region switch adds automated RDS Oracle Data Guard failover block
AWS Application Recovery Controller (ARC) Region switch now includes an Amazon RDS Switchover Read Replica execution block. This new capability automates recovery orchestration for Amazon RDS databases running Oracle Data Guard in multi-Region workloads. It simplifies failover scenarios by automating the role transition between primary and read replica with zero data loss during planned events, or promoting a read replica during unplanned outages. The block also supports native cross-account management, enabling centralized recovery orchestration across an organization.
