AWS Backup restore testing expands to 7 new regions

AWS Backup's restore testing capability is now available in seven additional AWS regions across Asia Pacific, Israel, Mexico, and Canada. This feature helps automate the validation of disaster recovery plans, ensuring readiness and compliance with RTOs. It is accessible via the AWS console, CLI, and SDKs for users managing backups across these expanded regions.

    AWS Backup restore testing has been extended to support the Asia Pacific (Taipei), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Asia Pacific (Thailand), Israel (Tel Aviv), Mexico (Central), and Canada West (Calgary) regions. This feature automates the testing of restore operations for various AWS resources.

  • Automated restore testing plans for RTO and compliance

    Users can create restore testing plans that automatically select recovery points, schedule restore operations, and measure job completion times against recovery time objectives (RTOs). This aids in evaluating recovery readiness and meeting disaster recovery and business continuity compliance requirements.
