AWS Billing: Configure Automatic Credit Memo Application
AWS now allows customers paying via electronic funds transfer to set preferences for how credit memos are automatically applied to invoices. This enhances payment process flexibility by offering options like applying credits to the original, next, or oldest unpaid invoice directly via the Billing and Cost Management console. These new automatic application preferences are now available across all commercial AWS Regions, offering a more tailored approach to managing outstanding balances.

By default, credit memos are applied to the original invoice first, then to future invoices. These automatic application preferences are available in all commercial AWS Regions.
