AWS CodeBuild adds Amazon Linux 2023 support for build hosts
AWS CodeBuild now allows users to select Amazon Linux 2023 as the operating system for on-demand build hosts, alongside the existing Amazon Linux 2. This update offers an improved Linux kernel and libraries, enabling gradual adoption by allowing production projects to continue using their current kernel while new projects can be tested with Amazon Linux 2023. Host kernel selection is broadly available, with specific exceptions for AWS GovCloud and China Regions.
