AWS DevOps Agent adds preview release management features
AWS DevOps Agent now offers preview release management capabilities, including release readiness reviews and autonomous release testing. These features aim to help teams assess code changes against production standards and automatically test them, addressing the increased volume of code, especially from AI tools. The capabilities are designed for engineers and architects working with CI/CD pipelines across AWS, multicloud, and on-premises environments.
- →Release readiness review for code changes
- →Autonomous release testing for applications
- →Enhanced support for AI-generated code
- →On-demand review triggering and reporting
- →Customizable standards and IDE integration
Features (2) ›
- Release readiness review for code changes
A new feature evaluates code changes against production requirements, dependency safety, and custom standards, checking for cross-repository risks and access control issues against best practices. Findings are displayed in the console and as pull request comments, or can be invoked directly from IDEs.
- Autonomous release testing for applications
This feature generates and runs change-specific test plans for web and API applications in production-like environments before code merges. It constructs tailored tests to cover functional correctness, regressions, and integration scenarios, producing structured artifacts like metrics, logs, and traces.
Maintenance (2) ›
- On-demand review triggering and reporting
Release readiness reviews can be triggered by pull requests or via on-demand queries in the chat interface. Detailed reports include recommended actions (BLOCK, Proceed with Caution, Safe to Release), analysis of risks, prioritized issues, and specific resolution steps.
- Customizable standards and IDE integration
Teams can define their own internal standards for reviews in plain English via the AWS DevOps Agent console. Developers can also invoke reviews directly from their IDE using plugins for immediate feedback on dependency risks and compliance issues.
Notes (1) ›
- Enhanced support for AI-generated code
The new capabilities help teams manage the increased volume of pull requests resulting from AI coding tools. This allows reviewers and testers to keep pace with development, ensuring speedy and safe delivery by catching issues that human reviewers might miss under pressure.
