AWS Direct Connect introduces flat-rate pricing for dedicated 10G and 100G connections

networkingawsgaarchitect
feature

AWS Direct Connect now offers flat-rate pricing for 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps dedicated connections, replacing variable data transfer out (DTO) charges with a fixed monthly fee. This model provides predictable network budgeting for workloads with large, sustained DTO, eliminating concerns about increasing data transfer costs. It is designed for network architects, enterprise IT teams, and FinOps practitioners seeking consistent, fixed-line-item expenses. The flat-rate pricing includes geographic tiers and introduces optional port-pairs for inbuilt redundancy at no extra charge, available in all commercial AWS Regions except China.

Features (2)
  • Introduce flat-rate pricing for 10G and 100G dedicated connections

This new pricing model offers a single fixed monthly price, eliminating data transfer out (DTO) charges within the selected tier, to provide predictable network budgeting. It applies to 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps dedicated connections across five geographic tiers, excluding China Regions.

  • Introduce optional port-pair concept for inbuilt resiliency

Flat-rate pricing includes the option to provision dedicated connections as port-pairs, which are two connections on different devices or locations sharing the same bandwidth and scope. The second connection, for redundancy, is included at no additional charge.
