    AWS has launched a new Local Zone in Hanoi, Vietnam, bringing AWS infrastructure and services closer to end users in the region. This deployment aims to provide single-digit millisecond latency for end-user workloads and meet data residency requirements.

    The Hanoi Local Zone is among the first in the Asia Pacific region to offer support for Amazon S3 and Amazon EBS Local Snapshots. This feature allows customers to store and back up their data locally, helping them comply with data residency mandates.

    The new Local Zone provides access to Amazon EC2 instances (C7i, M7i, R7i), Amazon S3 One Zone-Infrequent Access storage, Amazon EBS volumes, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, Amazon VPC, AWS Direct Connect, and Application Load Balancer. These services are accessible using consistent AWS APIs and tools.
