feature announcement

AWS is gradually rolling out updates to its sign-in and sign-up experience to a limited number of customers, featuring a redesigned sign-in page and new account creation options. These changes aim to provide a unified email entry point and a more consistent experience across AWS services. Existing customers will continue to use their current credentials, but those with browser automation for sign-in workflows should review the updates for compatibility. Additionally, a refreshed session selection page simplifies managing multiple active account and role sessions.

Enhancements (2)
  • Redesigned AWS Sign-In Page with Unified Email Entry

The AWS sign-in page has been redesigned to feature a unified email entry point. Root users and new accounts will enter an email address, with AWS automatically determining the sign-in flow, while IAM users choose a separate path. The page also supports direct sign-in via supported identity providers for accounts created with them.

  • Refreshed Session Selection for Multiple Accounts and Roles

AWS has updated the session selection page to simplify viewing and managing active account and role sessions. The redesigned interface consolidates active sessions, displaying account, role, and recent sign-in information. Users can select an existing session, sign out of specific or all sessions, or add new sessions from this page.

  • Review for Browser Automation and Scripted Workflows

Organizations relying on the current AWS sign-in interface for browser automation or scripted workflows are encouraged to review these updates. While existing sign-in methods remain, UI changes might affect current configurations. AWS recommends using supported programmatic access options for the most reliable and stable experience.
