AWS Storage Gateway now supports FIPS-compliant private connectivity for Tape and Volume Gateway
AWS Storage Gateway now supports FIPS 140-3 validated endpoints via AWS PrivateLink for Tape Gateway and Volume Gateway. This allows FIPS-compliant traffic to remain entirely on the private AWS network, addressing the previous limitation of FIPS endpoints being public-only. The enhancement simplifies the use of Storage Gateway for regulated workloads that require strict data isolation and compliance. To utilize this, gateways must run software version 3.2.7 or later, and the feature is available in eight specific AWS regions where Storage Gateway offers FIPS endpoints.
