Azure Custom Vision Service to be Retired September 25, 2028

Microsoft has announced the retirement of the Azure Custom Vision service, with full support continuing until September 25, 2028. Customers are encouraged to plan transitions to alternative solutions, such as Azure Machine Learning AutoML for custom model training or Azure AI Foundry for generative AI-based vision solutions. Azure AI Content Understanding, currently in public preview, is recommended for managed generative image classification workflows and processing unstructured data.

    For custom image classification and object detection, Azure Machine Learning AutoML is recommended. Generative AI-based solutions using models from the Azure AI Foundry model catalog are also suggested for customized vision scenarios.

    Azure AI Content Understanding, currently in public preview, offers a managed generative solution for image classification workflows and can process various unstructured data types to extract structured insights.
