Azure Databricks extends free usage for Genie One and Genie Agents until January 31, 2027

Azure Databricks has extended the free usage period for Genie One and Genie Agents until January 31, 2027, an update from the previous July 31, 2026 deadline. During this promotional period, budget controls will not apply to these products, allowing users to leverage them without direct cost. This extension specifically benefits human users, as service principals will continue to be billed for their usage. Genie Code is excluded from this particular free usage extension but receives a monthly allowance of 150 free Databricks units and a 25% discount on usage beyond that until January 31, 2027.

  • Genie Code receives separate promotional allowance

    While Genie Code is not included in the free usage extension for Genie One and Genie Agents, each user will continue to receive 150 free Databricks units (DBUs) per month. Usage exceeding this allowance benefits from a 25% promotional discount through January 31, 2027, combined with applicable discounts on the Serverless Real-Time Inference SKU.
