Azure Firewall: HTTP Header Insertion Reaches General Availability
Azure Firewall now generally supports HTTP header insertion within its application rules, allowing organizations to add or overwrite HTTP/HTTPS request headers directly. This capability enhances security controls, simplifies application access, and supports tenant restriction scenarios without requiring third-party proxies. It is particularly useful for Microsoft Entra tenant restrictions, Azure Virtual Desktop, and enterprise egress filtering, reducing dependencies and improving operational efficiency. The feature is available in Azure Firewall Premium for both HTTP and HTTPS (with TLS Inspection) and in Standard/Basic SKUs for HTTP traffic.
