Microsoft Azure will retire the HC-series virtual machine sizes Standard_HC44rs, Standard_HC44-16rs, and Standard_HC44-32rs on May 31, 2027. This affects users of these specific HPC VMs, who are advised to migrate to newer generations like HBv5 or HX series for improved performance and continuity. After the retirement date, remaining HC-series VMs will be deallocated, lose SLA, and cease to be supported, with RI purchases ending April 2, 2026.
