Azure NVv3-series VMs to be retired September 30, 2026

Microsoft Azure will retire NVv3-series virtual machines on September 30, 2026. This change affects users of specific NVv3 VMs, requiring them to migrate workloads to newer VM series like the NVadsA10_v5 to avoid service disruptions. After the retirement date, remaining NVv3 VMs will be deallocated, lose SLA coverage, and stop incurring charges, while associated Reserved Instance purchases will end a year earlier.

  • Retirement of NVv3-series VMs

    Azure will retire specific NVv3-series virtual machines, including Standard_NV12s_v3, Standard_NV12hs_v3, Standard_NV24s_v3, Standard_NV24ms_v3, Standard_NV32ms_v3, and Standard_NV48s_v3, on September 30, 2026. After this date, any remaining NVv3 VMs will be deallocated, cease to function, and will no longer be covered by an SLA or receive support.

  • End of Reserved Instance Purchases

    Purchases for 1-year and 3-year Reserved Instances for the NVv3-series will cease on September 30, 2025, one year prior to the VM retirement.

  • Recommended Migration Path

    Users are advised to migrate their workloads from the NVv3-series VMs to newer alternatives such as the NVadsA10_v5 VMs. These recommended VMs offer improved GPU memory bandwidth per GPU and are suitable for GPU-accelerated graphics applications, virtual desktops, visualizations, or small AI workloads.
