  • Impact of retirement

After September 30, 2026, remaining NVv4-series VMs will be deallocated, stop working, and will no longer incur billing charges or be covered by SLA or support.

  • Reserved Instance (RI) purchase end date

1-year and 3-year RI purchases for the NVv4-series will end on September 30, 2025.

  • Required customer action

Customers must resize or deallocate their NVv4-series VMs before the retirement date, with a recommendation to change VM sizes to the NVads_V710_v5-series or an alternative.

Known issues (1)
  • Resize operation error during migration

A known resize operation error occurs when migrating from NVv4-series to NVads_V710_v5-series. A fix is planned for April 2026, with a suggested workaround available in the meantime.

Notes (1)
  • Recommended alternative VM series

Microsoft recommends the NVads_V710_v5-series VMs, offering greater GPU memory bandwidth per GPU, suitable for graphics applications, virtual desktops, visualizations, and small AI inference workloads.
