    All General Purpose v1 (GPv1) storage accounts, including legacy blob and Files storage accounts hosted on GPv1, are scheduled for retirement. This move aims to enhance performance, scalability, and cost efficiency within the Azure Storage portfolio. Existing GPv1 accounts will be automatically migrated to GPv2 after October 13, 2026, which may increase billing costs.
