Azure Sphere service to retire July 31, 2031

Microsoft is retiring the Azure Sphere service, ceasing all application, OS, bug, and security updates, as well as DAA certificate issuance, on July 31, 2031. This decision follows advancements in secure IoT connectivity, where customers can now leverage a broader ecosystem of secure microcontrollers and next-generation Microsoft solutions. Customers are advised to evaluate hardware redesigns, consider PSA/SESIP Level 3+ certified silicon, and plan for MT3620 component renewals before July 31, 2026.
