Azure NAT Gateway StandardV2 Now Supports NAT64 for IPv6-to-IPv4 Translation

networkingazuregaengineer
feature

Azure NAT Gateway StandardV2 is now generally available with NAT64 support, enabling IPv6 workloads to communicate with IPv4-only internet destinations. This feature translates synthesized outbound IPv6 traffic into IPv4 traffic, bridging modern and legacy network environments. It uses a DNS64-capable resolver to embed IPv4 addresses within the NAT64 Well-Known Prefix, guiding client traffic for automatic translation. This enhancement simplifies connectivity for engineers managing IPv6-only environments that need to reach IPv4-only external services.
