Databricks now supports base environments for managing Python dependencies on classic compute. This feature allows users to leverage either Databricks-provided or custom workspace-level environments for streamlined dependency management. The functionality is currently available in Beta and affects users deploying Python workloads on classic compute infrastructure.

Users can now leverage base environments to manage Python dependencies directly on Databricks classic compute. This enhancement supports both Databricks-provided environments and custom workspace-level configurations, simplifying Python project setup. This functionality is currently in Beta.
