Databricks Genie One Gains Image Upload, GA Workspace Instructions, and More
Databricks has enhanced Genie One with several new capabilities, including support for uploading images and Word documents to conversations, and the general availability of workspace-level chat instructions. Ontology snippets are now in Public Preview, making them accessible to all customers without requesting access. Additionally, Genie One now supports write actions for connected MCP tools in Beta, and scheduled tasks can send results as PDF email attachments. Genie Ontology snippets are now accessible to all customers as a Public Preview feature, removing the previous requirement to request access for this capability.
- Workspace-Level Chat Instructions Generally Available
Genie One now offers generally available workspace-level instructions for its chat feature, allowing users to define and standardize conversational guidance.
- Image and Word Document Upload Support
Users can now upload image files (PNG, JPG, JPEG) and Word documents (.docx) into Genie One conversations, expanding on existing support for CSV and Excel files.
- MCP Write Actions Supported in Beta
Genie One now supports write actions for connected MCP tools, allowing external tools to perform operations directly through Genie One while this feature is in Beta.
- Scheduled Tasks Can Attach PDF Results
Scheduled tasks in Genie One can now send their results as PDF email attachments, providing a new format option for task output delivery.
