Databricks Serverless Compute Access Control Now Generally Available
Databricks has announced the general availability of serverless compute access control, empowering workspace administrators to govern who can run serverless workloads. This control is managed through two built-in objects: Default Interactive Compute for notebooks and Databricks Connect, and Default Automated Compute for jobs and Spark Declarative Pipelines on Lakeflow. All workspace users retain default access, ensuring existing workloads operate without interruption. This enhancement improves governance and security for serverless environments.

- Granular Access Control for Serverless Compute
Workspace administrators can now manage access to serverless workloads using two dedicated objects: Default Interactive Compute for interactive tasks and Default Automated Compute for jobs.
