Databricks Unity Gateway Now Tracks External AI Model Spend
Databricks Unity Gateway now provides cost tracking and spending caps for external AI model providers, such as Amazon Bedrock and Azure AI Foundry, extending its existing capabilities for Databricks-provided models. This allows organizations with direct capacity commitments to manage usage and enforce spend limits across various teams and use cases from a single point. Affected users can enable this by activating "External Model Spend in Budgets (Beta)" on the account console Previews page. It requires selecting "Include external model usage" when configuring a budget for the Unity Gateway resource type.
