Django Software Foundation Seeks Executive Director

The Django Software Foundation (DSF) is opening applications for a newly created Executive Director position. This role is a paid opportunity to lead the foundation's strategic and operational efforts, reporting to the Board of Directors. The DSF supports the Django web framework through various initiatives and aims to mature its organizational structure with this new leadership.

Key responsibilities include fundraising, aiming to increase annual goals from $300K to $500K, administering daily operations, managing staff and fellows, leading marketing and outreach, and overseeing legal and compliance matters. The role also involves coordinating with various working groups and representing the DSF publicly.

Candidates should possess experience in fundraising, nonprofit operations, and stakeholder communication, with a willingness to learn in other areas. While technical knowledge of Django or Python is not mandatory, it is considered a desirable attribute. Strong professional skills in conflict resolution, time management, and relationship-building are essential.

The position is remote and based in the United States, with no visa sponsorship offered. Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 base salary, with a potential bonus of up to $60,000 tied to fundraising success.
