Gemini Code Assist: Free Monthly Credits Discontinued
Google has discontinued the free monthly credits for Gemini Code Assist for new customers. These credits previously covered the first month of usage for new billing accounts that had never subscribed to the service. This change affects new customers looking to try the AI coding assistant, removing an initial incentive for adoption. Existing customers currently receiving these credits will not be impacted by the discontinuation.
