GitHub Copilot usage metrics now include VS Code Agents activity

aigaarchitect
feature

GitHub Copilot usage metrics reports now include generally available metrics for activity within the dedicated VS Code Agents window. These new metrics provide insights into daily active users, session counts, and total user messages for both aggregate enterprise/organization and individual user reports. This enables organizations to measure adoption and engagement with the VS Code Agents window, understand usage trends, and track activity across teams. Access to these metrics is available to enterprise and organization owners, billing managers, and specific custom roles, provided the Copilot usage metrics policy is enabled.

Features (1)
  • New Copilot usage metrics for VS Code Agents

GitHub Copilot usage metrics reports now include generally available metrics for activity in the dedicated VS Code Agents window. These include `daily_active_vscode_agent_users`, `session_count`, and `total_user_messages` for enterprise/organization and per-user reports, helping track adoption and engagement. Access requires specific roles and an enabled Copilot usage metrics policy, with metrics separate from editor-window Agent Mode.
