GitHub Issues now offers a public preview to detect duplicate issues. As an issue is being created, the system flags potential matches against existing issues in the repository and displays up to three suggestions inline. This aims to significantly reduce the time maintainers spend triaging duplicate reports.

Issue fields on the GitHub MCP server are now integrated with AI tools. This enables AI agents to automatically create fully triaged issues by setting fields such as priority and dates, and to filter existing issues based on specific field values.
