GKE Updates Available Versions, Default Builds, and Deprecates Older Releases
This release note details extensive version updates for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) across its Rapid, Regular, Stable, and Extended channels. It introduces new default and available cluster versions, along with updated auto-upgrade targets. Several older GKE builds are deprecated with a 90-day removal notice, and new Container-Optimized OS images incorporating security fixes are included. These comprehensive version rollouts require GKE cluster administrators and engineers to review upgrade paths and plan for managing deprecated versions to maintain security and support.
