Google Cloud Knowledge Catalog: Data Products GA, New Features
Google Cloud's Knowledge Catalog has reached General Availability for its Data Products feature, enabling curated data asset packaging for business problems. Key enhancements include approval workflows for consumption, automated documentation generation with Gemini, and service account support. A preview feature allows programmatic interaction with data products via a remote Model Context Protocol server for data applications and AI agents.

Data products in Knowledge Catalog is Generally Available ( GA ). A data product serves as a logical, curated package of data assets and context designed to solve a specific business problem. This release includes the following new features: Approval workflows for data product consumption: Data product consumers can browse published data products, submit access requests, and track their status.
