Looker 26.16 Rolls Out with Semantic Search GA, Admin Assistant Preview, and Bug Fixes
Looker 26.16 is rolling out to Looker (original) instances from September 8-20, 2026, bringing numerous bug fixes and new capabilities. This release generally improves platform stability, addresses issues with embedding, visualizations, and dashboard exports, and enhances administrator tools. Key updates include the general availability of Semantic Search and the public preview of Admin Assistant for managing roles using natural language. An issue has been fixed where logging in with a Google Cloud Workforce Identity within an embedded iframe could fail as a result of frame restrictions or because the authentication popup closed before session cookies were established. This feature now performs as expected.
