RDS SQL Server can now publish audit logs to CloudWatch
Amazon RDS for SQL Server now supports publishing SQL Server Audit logs directly to CloudWatch, enabling real-time analysis. Previously, logs could be published to S3 or both. This feature is available in all AWS Commercial and GovCloud (US) regions where RDS for SQL Server is offered.

Amazon RDS for SQL Server now supports publishing SQL Server Audit logs to CloudWatch, in addition to S3. This allows for real-time analysis of audit log data once published. The feature is available in all AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) regions.

- Enable retention for audit logs on DB instance
RDS now supports enabling retention for SQL Server Audit logs on the DB instance for a configured period. This complements the ability to publish logs to S3 and CloudWatch.

- Completion status for dual publication
When enabling both S3 and CloudWatch publication for audit logs, the operation is marked as completed only after files are uploaded to both destinations. This ensures data availability across both services.
