Secret Manager: Automatic Cloud SQL Credential Rotation (Preview)
Secret Manager now offers automatic rotation for regional Cloud SQL database credentials in preview. This feature simplifies credential management by generating passwords, updating Cloud SQL instances, and rotating secrets on a schedule, eliminating the need for custom Cloud Run functions. It is now available for PostgreSQL and SQL Server instances and requires no specific prerequisites beyond using Secret Manager.

Automatic rotation of regional Cloud SQL database credentials in Secret Manager is available in Preview . This feature lets you automatically generate secure passwords, update target Cloud SQL database instances (PostgreSQL or SQL Server), and rotate secret versions on a configured schedule without custom Cloud Run functions.
