- Snowflake App Runtime for Full-Stack Web Apps
Public preview of Snowflake App Runtime adds first-class support for full-stack web apps, starting with Node.js, within Snowflake Apps. This allows for rapid development and deployment of apps, with no infrastructure provisioning or credential configuration required, as apps run directly within Snowflake alongside data.
- AI Assistance with Snowflake CoCo for App Development
Snowflake CoCo, an AI coding agent, now assists with the full app lifecycle from a single prompt, including connecting data, deploying to production, and managing running applications. It ensures apps inherit data policies, role-based access control (RBAC), cost budgets, and audit logs from Day 1.
- New Partner Integrations for AI-Native Coding Platforms
Snowflake announces new integrations with Vercel and Superblocks, enabling developers to generate and deploy full-stack apps using natural language or build complex internal tools powered by Snowflake data. Retool is also integrated for governed internal apps.
Enhancements (2) ›
- Streamlit Enhancements for Data Apps on Snowflake
Streamlit in Workspaces is now Generally Available (GA), offering AI-assisted coding, Git integration, and a browser-based editor without local setup. The Next-Gen Streamlit Runtime provides faster load times and full parity with the open-source Python ecosystem.
- Improved App Discovery and Administration
App admins benefit from one-click setup for deployment and role-based access controls, while app users gain a unified discovery gallery to access all their enterprise apps in one place. Snowflake Horizon Catalog provides admins with a central management pane.
Notes (1) ›
- Enterprise-Ready by Default for Snowflake Apps
Snowflake Apps are designed to be enterprise-ready by default, automatically leveraging Snowflake's security, lineage, and access controls. This eliminates the need for extensive security reviews or custom IAM configurations, ensuring apps inherit existing data governance capabilities.
