Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition 8.4.8 is now Generally Available
Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition 8.4 now supports MySQL 8.4.8, incorporating several security enhancements and bug fixes. This release introduces support for Post-Quantum TLS (PQ-TLS) key exchange for in-transit data encryption, alongside new multi-source and delayed replication capabilities. A transaction timeout feature helps prevent performance issues caused by long-running transactions. The update is available in all AWS Regions where Aurora MySQL is offered, with in-place, snapshot restore, and automatic minor version upgrade options.

A new transaction timeout feature helps prevent performance issues caused by long-running transactions. Databases can be upgraded in-place, via snapshot restore, or through automatic minor version upgrades, with AWS Organizations Upgrade Rollout Policy available for orchestrating upgrades at scale.
