Amazon Aurora Serverless Improves Performance, Scaling, and Expands Global Reach
Amazon Aurora Serverless now delivers up to 30% better performance and enhanced scaling capabilities. These improvements, delivered in platform version 4, are available in five new AWS Regions, including Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Europe (Milan), and Mexico (Central). The enhanced scaling algorithm efficiently handles fluctuating workloads, making it well-suited for agentic AI applications. Existing clusters can upgrade to platform version 4 via pending maintenance actions, stop/restart, or blue/green deployments at no additional cost.

The updates are provided in platform version 4, with automatic adoption for new clusters and simple upgrade paths for existing ones.
