Amazon Bedrock AgentCore adds web search grounding

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore now offers a generally available Web Search tool that grounds AI agent responses in current, cited web knowledge without data egress. This feature leverages Amazon's search infrastructure and knowledge graph to provide more accurate and relevant information than traditional web search, allowing developers to focus on agent building rather than search integration. It is available today in US East (N. Virginia) with usage-based pricing.

    Amazon Bedrock AgentCore now includes a fully managed Web Search tool, enabling AI agents to ground responses in current, cited web knowledge. This feature uses a built-in connector on Bedrock AgentCore Gateway and leverages Amazon's search infrastructure and knowledge graph for improved accuracy.

    Users can enable Web Search by creating a Bedrock AgentCore Gateway with the Web Search tool target. Interaction is supported via API calls, CLI, or the MCP Inspector, with sample invocation code available for guidance.

    Web Search on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is generally available today in the US East (N. Virginia) Region. Pricing is usage-based at $7 per 1,000 search queries, with new AWS customers receiving free tier credits.
