aiawsengineeraws-bedrock
feature patch

Amazon Bedrock is reducing prices for OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Luna and GPT-5.6 Terra models, effective July 30, 2026. This move, aligning with OpenAI's first-party pricing adjustments, aims to enable customers to scale their AI applications and reduce per-task costs. The new pricing will be applied automatically to workloads in select AWS regions, with Luna optimized for high-volume tasks and Terra for balanced intelligence and cost.

Enhancements (1)
  • Reduced pricing for GPT-5.6 Luna and Terra on Amazon Bedrock

On-demand inference prices for GPT-5.6 Luna are reduced by 80%, and for GPT-5.6 Terra by 20%, effective July 30, 2026. These price reductions are in alignment with OpenAI's first-party pricing changes for these models.

Notes (2)
  • Model use cases and availability

GPT-5.6 Luna is suited for high-volume workloads and tasks like content processing and customer service automation, while GPT-5.6 Terra balances intelligence, speed, and cost for production workloads. Pricing for GPT-5.6 Sol remains unchanged, and the new prices apply automatically without customer action.

  • Regional availability for updated pricing

GPT-5.6 Luna and Terra with the new pricing are available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), and US West (Oregon) via the OpenAI Responses API on the bedrock-mantle endpoint.
