Amazon Bedrock offers Gemma 4 open-weight models in European Sovereign Cloud

Amazon Bedrock now supports running open-weight models, starting with the Gemma 4 family, within the AWS European Sovereign Cloud. This enables European organizations to deploy generative AI workloads that meet strict EU data residency and digital sovereignty requirements. The Gemma 4 models leverage Bedrock's next-generation inference engine, which provides a zero-operator access, zero-data retention security model and an OpenAI-compatible API. Operations, data residency, and customer-created metadata for these workloads are exclusively maintained within the EU through the eusc-de-east-1 Region.
