Amazon CloudFront Adds API and IaC Support for Flat-Rate Pricing Plans
Amazon CloudFront now allows customers to programmatically subscribe, upgrade, downgrade, and cancel flat-rate pricing plans. This new API support extends to AWS CLI, SDKs, CloudFormation, CDK, and the PricingPlanManager API, enabling automated management of content delivery costs previously only available via the console. The flat-rate plans cover global content delivery, WAF, DDoS, DNS, logging, and edge compute, eliminating usage-based overage charges regardless of traffic spikes. Paid plans include an optional two-phase activation to prevent unintended billing, making it suitable for automated provisioning workflows.
