Amazon Connect Customer Profiles now sends segment membership events
Amazon Connect Customer Profiles has launched the ability to send real-time and scheduled events when customer profiles enter or exit defined segments. This new capability streamlines the process of activating outbound campaigns, personalization, and retention actions by eliminating the need for manual segment exports and custom scripting. Changes are streamed directly to Amazon Kinesis Data Stream, providing near real-time updates for standard segments and periodic evaluations for enhanced segments. The feature is generally available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Connect Customer Profiles operates.

- Real-time and Scheduled Segment Membership Events
Amazon Connect Customer Profiles now automatically sends events to Amazon Kinesis Data Stream when customer profiles join or leave a segment. This allows for immediate action on changes, such as activating campaigns or personalization workflows, instead of relying on resource-intensive, error-prone, and delayed manual export processes. Events include the profile ID, segment name, operation type, and detection method, facilitating integration with downstream systems.
